Jean-Louis Villoutreix, born in 1953, is a French citizen and a graduate of Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris. He continuously held positions as financial controller and, later, VP Finance within various businesses. He began his career at Philips Group for a period of 9 years in professional electronics, including 5 years in Semi-conductors industry.
Jean-Louis Villoutreix joined Thales in components industry starting at Thomson Semi-conductors in 1986, which merged into ST-Microelectronics in 1987 and, later on, became CFO of Thomson Tubes Electroniques.
He joined the defence business in 1998 in the naval domain as CFO of Thomson-CSF Naval Combat Systems France. In 2001, he was appointed VP Finance for newly created Secure Operations Business Group which, in 2004, expanded into Security Division, one of the building blocks of new Security Solutions and Services division.
