Patrick Fournié was appointed Executive Vice-President, Operations in July 2004.
Patrick Fournié, born in 1953, is a French citizen and has an Engineering degree from the National School of Telecommunications, (1974-ENST), France and a master of Science in Electrical Engineering from TEXAS A&M University (1974), USA.
From 1983 to 1985, he was in Alcatel Telspace as Earth stations Program Manager of the "France Telecom" contracts. Then he went to Washington DC to be Business Development Manager and US representative of Alcatel Telspacewithin the joint venture Alcatel / Fairchild. He joined Alcatel Espace in Toulouse in 1987 to be at the head of the communications satellite department in the marketing & sales division of Alcatel Espace. In 1995, he became Executive Program Director of the WORLDSTAR Project.
From 2000 to June 2004, he was Deputy then General Manager of the Telecommunications Business Unit covering all the telecommunication System and Network activities, satellites and payloads, civil and military. From 1997 to 1999, he was executive Director of the Space Systems directorate and Skybridge constellation & Systems programs.
Patrick Fournié joined Alcatel Group in 1976 for Alcatel Microwave Links as field Engineer, then Manager of major export contracts.
