He began his career with the French Interior and Finance ministries (1978-1994). He then joined Air France as VP, in charge of financial and economic affairs. In 1998, he joined Crédit Lyonnais, being promoted in 2002 to Group Vice CEO. Following the merger of Crédit Lyonnais and Crédit Agricole, he became a member of Crédit Agricole's Executive Committee, in charge of overseeing the merger. He joined Thales in 2005 as SVP Finance and has held his present position since January 2006.
